Playing Tight System

Posted by Assistanc3 On May - 31 - 2009

Some people will say don’t use a “system for poker” but I do and I will share the basic concept of why  it isn’t that bad of a suggestion.  Below is a simple system how what cards would best be played in the selected position.  This is “playing tight poker“, which is great for when you multi table in 3-4 sit-n-go’s.  I don’t suggest this for a tournament or cash game strategy.

This system will help you with your position and because your playing more then one table you reduce the thinking process down to ABC.  Once you have gathered up some chips or finished playing a SnG then you can play more about the players.  Give this strategy some consideration next time you log into play some sit-n-go’s.

I think from reading your tutorials and blogs over and over again I play pretty tight. There are those times during any given game that I just throw all my chippies into the wind.. go all in with a grin and what happens… happens.. luck vs skill.. loser vs winner..pennies vs paper money..
I had a great month of May poker.. AJ,you might not have taught me how to play poker but you certainly have taught me how to win at poker..

This chart is just another great tool to use when playing. I know that when I first started playing Freerolls and made some cash ( pennies to paper) I played SNG’s to build my Bankroll.. I hope newcomers to your site and the game of poker print up and use this chart and see positive results.. I know I am going to use it. One thing I need help with..
Can you help me hook up my printer?? :)

I definitely plan on giving this chart a try. I’ve been hitting the sng tables quite often lately and have just started multitabling. I think this chart will be a great tool to use to help perfect my game as well as help me to better learn positions.
Less thinking? Sounds good to me! ;)

I’ll let you know how this works out for me, I have no doubt I will be successful because all your other lessons have proven to work for me as well.

Back with my update as promised :D

I gave this chart a shot the other day. Had to write it down on paper so I didn’t have to keep flipping back here (my printer is out of ink of course).

It took a little bit to get use to at the start, but once I got into it went really well. Your right, reduced the thinking big time, which for me, is a good thing because i’m just starting to multitable.
I played 3 sng’s and cashed in all 3. One 1st and two 2nds. Pretty good results if you ask me.

Thank you for posting this, it’s a very handy tool to have.

this system looks basic but at the same time profitable, I’m going to try your no think strategy approach.
